Thrifty Tween Styles: Sport Lunch Tote!
I love sports. Well, specifically I love softball, basketball, volleyball and track. Over the past few years, I’ve really been working hard at softball in particular and recently earned a spot on a local 14U travel ball team called the Lady Lobos. We’re really good, but one of the reasons our team is so good is that we practice and play a lot of games. We can play up to six games in one day, literally spending around 12 hours at the softball field. You have to plan accordingly with food, sunblock, etc., because if not, buying those items at the concession stand can get really expensive.
One way my family keeps costs down is to pack all our own food in. My old cooler was falling apart, and we’d been looking at the soft-sided ones, but they are over $40. I was lucky enough to find a brand-new-with-tags cooler at Thrift Town for only $7.99! I couldn’t believe that this is exactly the type we were hoping to get for my tournaments!
I was so excited! My mom helped me pack it full of food for this past weekend’s tournament. It worked out great! Oh, and by the way…we won the whole tourney!
Gianna & Sydney are 13 years old and are in the 7th grade. They both love sports, the beach, shopping, and antagonizing their siblings (Gianna has two little brothers, Syd has a twin brother and teen sister). Gianna & Syd have been BFF’s for the past 4 years and look forward to doing many more Thrifty Tween Style blogs, which have even been featured on Good Day Sacramento!
